It’s free to create an online fundraising campaign. If you are making a donation, the credit card processing company charges 2.9% +$0.30 per transaction. Raceplanner, the software that hosts our fundraising events, receives $1 per transaction. Depending on the fundraiser, a donor may have the option to take on these fees so Girls on the Run receives the full amount of your donation.
Girls on the Run International and all Girls on the Run councils operate as their own 501(c)3 charitable organizations or through an affiliate charitable organization, so all donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. You will receive an email receipt to serve as record of your donation for IRS requirements.
Yes, you must set up an account with RacePlanner to create a GOTR Giving project. Creating an account allows you to access your activity dashboard, customize your message, and share your project page on social media. If you already have a RacePlanner account, you may log in with the same credentials to set up your project.
Due to operational differences, some Girls on the Run councils are not set up to receive donations through the Giving platform. We encourage you to make a donation by finding their website. If you would still like to participate in setting up a fundraising project, you can fundraise for Girls on the Run International or another local council.
Some Girls on the Run councils do not currently host a SoleMates program. We encourage you to set up a project using the Celebrations, Limitless Potential or Girl Power categories.
