Project Type: SoleMates
I am raising $2,200 for my first 100K Race (62 miles!) the day before my 46th birthday for Girls On The Run!
Thank you in advance for visiting my page and supporting me in my craziness ;)
I became a runner late in my life and it's changed my life...so much that I am now a running coach because I want to share with people how amazing this sport can be!
I wish I had Girls On The Run when I was a kid so I could've started doing this amazing sport at a much younger age. It would've also taught me so many life lessons early on via their 8 week curriculum.
My business, The Running University, has sponsored the GOTR 5K race for the last few years and now I'm taking it a step further. I've been on the Board of Directors since 2015 and this year I am Secretary. Last year I raised $2200 for my first 50 miler so I am shooting for $2300 this year.
Running has taught me that I can push myself and achieve goals I never thought possible and I want that for all the young girls we serve via Girls On The Run. #limitlesspotential
I remember swearing I would never to do more than a 5K and now I'm tackling my longest distance yet. I picked Aravaipa Running's Black Canyon 100K as it falls the day before my birthday (probably a good chance I'll be coming in after midnight so it will be my birthday when I finish!)
Please help me raise money for Girls On The Run Maricopa and Pinal county. I want this program to be available to as many girls as possible. More than 60% of our participants come from high-risk, low-income communities, and last year alone we awarded more than $100,000 in program scholarships to girls in need. We are also a a Qualifying Charitable Organization for the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit. This means that if you make a donation up to $800 per married couple filing jointly or $400 per individual, you will receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit.
Thank you in advance!
