GOTR Council: Girls on the Run International

Project Type: Celebrations
I want to sprinkle in an ingredient of tikkun olam ("healing the world") in honor of my Bat Mitzvah...
My desire is to help people who struggle with the psychological hurdles of losing weight. Losing weight is my lifelong challenge. In searching for the right organization for my tikkun olam, a friend suggested Girls on the Run – and it hit home! Girls on the Run inspires young girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Since eating disorders are about feelings, not food, I believe in what Girls on the Run does – they help girls feel good. Plus, I love Girls on the Run because it’s a blend of my life's challenge and my life's vocation!
I hope your donations will further the vision of Girls on the Run – a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.
This picture was taken at my conversion to Judaism on July 7, 2014 - after being in the mikvah. Pictured with me is my Bet Din (rabbinical court) – from left, Rabbi Stuart Gershon (my Sponsoring Rabbi), “Me,” Rabbi Faith Joy Dantowitz and Rabbi Greg Litcofsky.
Thank you for your donation in honor of my Bat Mitzvah!
